About the Job
Our Administrative office has a unique opportunity for an Accountant. this role reports to the Controller, and actively collaborates with Accounts Payable and Payroll teammates, along with other department heads. Successful candidates will be driven by a desire to lean and grow with the firm, be passionate about organization, have their debits and credits memorized, and have a results-oriented perspective.
Responsibilities:
- Drive month-end close process and manage deadlines: journal entries; variance analysis and reconciliation.
- Manage Fixed Asset, Accrual, and Prepaid schedules, journal entries, and reconciliation.
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts.
- Prepare weekly cash transaction reports for Accounts Payable.
- Track and complete property tax (571L) returns and maintain business licenses for multiple offices.
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports.
- Assist with year-end closing processes.
- Review Accounts Payable transactions for compliance and GL coding.
- Prepare 1099s annually and maintain vendor records in preparation.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Develop and maintain policy and procedure documentation.
- Handle ad-hoc projects as needed.
- Audit preparation.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of GAAP and the ability to apply professional judgment to accounting scenarios.
- Proficient in Excel, skilled with V/X Lookups and Pivot tables.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, especially via email.
- Ability to prioritize and work independently as needed, which requires excellent time and task management skills.
- Resourceful and adaptable to new processes and technologies.
Priority consideration will be given to candidates with experience in the following areas:
- Internal audit preparation.
- Professional services and/or LLP accounting.
- Software implementation.
- Bill/expense automation tools.
- Payroll.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on accounting experience.
- Law firm experience is a plus.
- Experience in Orio Law Management software is a plus.
Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
