What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Instructional Assistant position at Multiple Locations?
If you were a Substitute Instructional Assistant in our district for the 2024-25 school year you do not need to complete this application. Please simply complete your Annual Training and email notification of completion.
After completing the Instructional Assistant application, you will be contacted by the HR Department with next steps after application has been reviewed.
Under the direct supervision of a licensed teacher, the substitute instructional assistant will supervise students during the recess period, in the classroom and perform other duties as assigned. Possible assignments could include one-on-one student assistance, Special Education classrooms or general education classrooms for students Kindergarten through 12th grade. Duties are at all schools in the District and assignments may be different each day.
Applicants will be required to be fingerprinted and complete a criminal records check as well as:
- Preferred but not required: Seventy two (72) credit hours of post high school studies, earned an Associate’s Degree or higher or passed the National Career Readiness test.
- Experience working with school-age students preferred but not required.
- The ability to work harmoniously with teachers, students, and other staff.
- Be able to take direction appropriately, changing tasks as necessary.
- Bilingual applicants desired, but not required.
- Be dependable and flexible with schedule.
