Volleyball Coach

The Role:Are you passionate about volleyball and ready to inspire the next generation of athletes? MAC Volleyball is seeking dynamic and experienced assistant coaches to support our teams during the upcoming 2024-25 club season (November to May). If you thrive on leadership, enjoy fostering teamwork, and have a deep understanding of volleyball, we’d love to have you on board! What You’ll Do: Coach & Develop: Lead weekly practices, focusing on skill development, strength and conditioning, and fostering a strong sense of sportsmanship and leadership among athletes. You'll help guide players ages 12-16U through practices held 2-3 times per week. Communicate & Collaborate: Utilize Team Snap to communicate with athletes and families about practice schedules, team updates, and any changes. You'll work closely with the head coach to create strategies and support the holistic development of athletes—mentally, emotionally, and physically. Build Skills: Offer constructive feedback during practice and game play, and occasionally instruct in clinics, group lessons, or private sessions. You’ll have the opportunity to deepen your impact by extending your coaching efforts to these additional avenues, based on your commitment and alignment with the program’s values. Engage with Families: Respond to parents with professionalism and care. You’ll be an essential point of contact, keeping them informed on schedules, progress, and team updates throughout the season. What You’ll Bring: Experience & Expertise: A minimum of 4 years of volleyball playing experience (school, club, collegiate, adult league, etc.) and at least 2 years of coaching experience. You understand the game inside and out, and can plan and execute effective practices. Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills are a must—you’ll be engaging with athletes, families, staff, and other coaches to ensure clear communication and build trust. Commitment: Availability during weekday evenings (starting at 4:30 PM) and weekends is required. You'll also need reliable transportation for travel to/from the MAC and tournaments, which may be local, regional, or national. Certifications: CPR/First Aid certification and completion of Heads Up Concussion Training are required before the season begins.
