Adult Medicaid. Income Maintenance and NC Fast experience or certification preferred. Requires knowledge of Excel and Word. 

The primary purpose of this Income Maintenance Caseworker I position is to assist Adult
Medicaid, Food and Nutrition Services and Family and Children’s Medicaid with a variety of
duties including, but not limited to, incoming mail, incoming phone calls, returned mail, address
and provider changes, and multiple work queues and reports, to be complete daily, monthly or
quarterly. Duties will also include opening, date stamping and scanning daily mail to a shared
drive.

The assigned duties are to be completed for Adult Medicaid, Food and Nutrition Services and
Family and Children’s Medicaid recipients in a timely manner in accordance with the Adult
Medicaid, Food and Nutrition and Family and Children’s Medicaid manuals and Federal and
State rules and regulations. The caseworker will also utilize the training material presented for
each program. This worker will make sure all information completed is documented, scanned,
and keyed into NC FAST when applicable.

This position is from 8:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M., Monday through Friday.80% Administrative
This worker assists Adult Medicaid, Food and Nutrition Services and Family and
Children’s Medicaid Caseworkers with incoming phone calls. This includes
receiving, logging, and resolving phone calls.
Assists with opening, date stamping and scanning all incoming mail.
Assists Adult Medicaid, Food and Nutrition Services and Family and Children’s
Medicaid caseworkers with returned mail and address changes. This includes
documenting the outcome within NC FAST and shared drive, remailing
information if address is known, requesting contact by client if unable to reach or
new address is not listed, updating case to correct address, and notifying worker
of any needed actions.
Assists Adult Medicaid and Family and Children’s Medicaid caseworkers with
provider changes. This includes documenting the updated provider within NC
FAST and entering Managed Care evidence.
Assists Food and Nutrition Services with phone calls for EBT card replacements.

Assists Adult Medicaid, Food and Nutrition Services and Family and Children’s
Medicaid caseworkers in preparing their monthly re-certifications for processing,
when applicable. This includes when applicable, check listing, running AVS and
OVS, completing Register of Deed and Property Search verifications for each
case to be reviewed, assisting caseworkers in obtaining additional information
necessary to complete the review by mailing third party request or making phone
calls.

Employee will be expected to work in emergency shelters and/or perform related
disaster tasks and perform other reasonable tasks requested by your immediate
supervisor, the deputy director or director.

Other Work Characteristics
A. Calculators, copiers, laptops, telephone, scanner and other office equipment will
be used in the performance of the duties of this position. Worker in this position
must have access to the Eligibility Information System, NC FAST, Register of
Deed, Property Search, ACTS, Work Number, OLV, Department of Motor
Vehicles, Social Security and Employment Security System. Included in
materials used in work are assigned work queues, shared drives, re-certification
reports, Death Match Report, NCTRACKS, Adult Medicaid and FCMA Manual,
Integrated Manual, Administrative letters, Change Notices, as well as other
verbal and written instructions.

B. The responsibility of this caseworker position must be accurate and exact as well
as timely to avoid delay in benefits and ineligible participation.

C. Close visual attention is needed in every phase of the job since reading, writing
and using machines make up the duties. Intense mental concentration must be
maintained not to make errors, which could have a negative impact on the
applicants/recipients and county. Precise attention to detail and accuracy is
important. The ability to read and interpret policy is required.

D. Adhere to confidentiality rules enforced by the agency.A. Graduation from an accredited associate degree program in Human Services
Technology, Social Services Associate, Paralegal Technology, Business
Administration, Secretarial Science, or a closely related curriculum; or
graduation from high school and two years of paraprofessional, clerical, or other
public contact experience which included negotiating, interviewing, explaining
information, gathering and compiling of data, analysis of data and/or
performance of mathematical or legal tasks with at least one year of such
experience being in an Income Maintenance program.

B. Graduation from high school and three years of paraprofessional, clerical,
medical office, or other public contact experience which includes negotiating,
interviewing, explaining information, the gathering and compiling of data, the
analysis of data and/or the performance of mathematical or legal tasks; or an
equivalent combination of training and experience.

C. Valid North Carolina Driver’s License
