POSITION: Tradesman - Grade 507/07/2022
LOCATION: Plant Operations/District wide
WORK YEAR: Year Round: 9:00 am-5:00 pm (Monday - Friday)
STARTING: On or around June 23, 2022
REPORTS TO: Director of Plant Operations
SALARY: $26.21/hr. after 90 day probationary period (during probationary period, the wage rate will be 5% less) Benefits per collective bargaining agreement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School graduate or equivalent, Vocational training in HVAC&R systems or equivalent experience; with a minimum of at least five years work experience in related fields. Must have thorough knowledge of HVAC&R systems maintenance procedures, methods and use of equipment and working knowledge of rules, codes and applicable regulations related to principal duties and basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical and carpenty. Must be familiar with basic test equipment and their use in trouble shooting repairs on HVAC&R systems. Capable of understanding basic schematics, engineering drawings and related manuals to conduct maintenance and repairs. Interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills are a must in this position where there is contact with staff, students and the public. Experience working in a school district or college/university is preferred but not required. A valid New Hampshire Driver’s License is required for traveling to schools around the District. A NH CFC recovery license and gas fitters license is required.

SUMMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain, adjust and repair HVAC&R systems, including but not limited to boilers, hot water heaters, air handling units, steam and hot water distrbution systems, computerized building automation systems and control systems (pneumatic, electric and electronic) in proper working order for optimal performance and efficient consumption of fuel and electricity. Follow all safety rules and regulations, industry standard practices and federal, state, city and school district policies. Conduct preventive maintenance as assigned and periodically monitor buildings for proper temperature and humidity. Perform neccessary caprentry , masonry or associated trades work, including non-licensed repair and maintenance of water supply systems and drainage, sanitary, storm, security,electrical systems, basic plumbing and other building components. Maintain all assigned equipment, conducting any required preventive maintenance. Provide labor for movement of school district property and snow removal. Perform other duties related to the scope of this position as assignement by the Plant Operations Director ,Assistant Director or Custodial Supervisor.
