What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Officer position at National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum?
To ensure a safe and secure environment for visitors, staff and property of the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: 40 hour a week position: Wednesday-Sunday 12am-8am. Will include split schedules, holidays, weekends, and other shift coverage as required. NYS security training preferred but can also be provided.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Patrol all areas of Museum, observing visitors and staff
- Check for safety and hazardous conditions and responding to emergencies
- Take required action to correct or cause action to be taken to maintain safety.
- Perform safety checks and maintain records of equipment for protection of fire and hazardous conditions.
JOB QUALIFICATION:
EDUCATION – High School Diploma and or NY State Security Guard Training preferred but can be provided.
EXPERIENCE – Previous security/mechanical-electrical knowledge and experience preferred.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Perform under stress and able to work long shifts of varied hours
- Standing and walking for long periods of time
- Some lifting, climbing stairs, and possible running
- Able to lift 50lbs
TYPICAL EQUIPMENT USED: Radio, keys, flashlight, first aid kits. Security and Fire equipment.
