The Commercial Estimator at National Design Mart evaluates costs through all the stages of design and the construction of assigned projects which include performing research, gathering quotations, preparing reports, and monitoring forecast plans.

- Collect bids and compile material costs and submit to contractors to award bid.
- Cooperating with clients, contractors, architects, engineers, planners, and other team members to develop plans for new projects.
- Communicating with suppliers, subcontractors, and other parties involved in the project to ensure that everyone involved is aware of deadlines and changes in plans.
- Determining the cost of labor, materials, equipment, and other resources needed for each phase of the project.
- Conducting research on current costs of materials, labor rates, and other factors that affect project costs.
- Preparing detailed estimates of project costs based on drawings, plans, and specifications provided by clients.
- Creating budgets for projects and monitoring spending to ensure that budgets are adhered to throughout the duration of the project.
- Meeting with team to discuss design details, materials, and other specifics related to the project
- Calculating bids based on a detailed breakdown of labor and materials costs and estimating profit margins for each job.
- Resolves cost differences by analyzing and collecting info.
- Writes up and presents budgets, reports, and project plans.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
