Digital Press Operator
Position Summary:
We are seeking a part-time entry level Digital Press Operator for our Marketing Department.
The Digital Press Operator will be responsible for the efficient setup, operation, and maintenance of digital printing equipment to support the marketing team’s production needs. This role ensures high-quality, timely output of printed materials such as brochures, mailers, signage, point-of-sale displays, and other marketing items. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple print jobs in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate digital printing press (Verdant 280 Press) to produce high-quality marketing materials.
- Review job tickets and specifications to ensure accuracy of print setup, substrates, and finishing requirements.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of press equipment to reduce downtime.
- Collaborate with graphic designers and the marketing team to ensure brand consistency and color accuracy.
- Calibrate machines and perform color management for optimal output.
- Perform finishing operations such as trimming, binding, folding, or laminating as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized print production area.
- Monitor inventory levels of paper, toner, and other supplies; notify supervisor when reordering is needed.
- Maintain records of print jobs and assist in scheduling priorities to meet campaign deadlines.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training preferred.
- 1 years’ experience operating digital press equipment in a commercial or in-house print setting.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong eye for detail and commitment to quality control.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
Preferred:
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (especially Acrobat, InDesign, Illustrator).
- Some familiarity with RIP software (e.g., Fiery, Creo) and prepress file setup (PDF workflows).
- Understanding of variable data printing and data merging tools.
- Background in marketing/graphic design or working within a creative/marketing team environment.
