Position Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Manager to lead our Union County location. This role requires a dynamic, upbeat individual with strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of business operations. The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations of the bowling center, ensuring a positive guest experience, and driving financial success. The position does not require bowling center operations experience, although basic familiarity with bowling is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Staff Management
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise all center staff, including front desk, snack bar, mechanics, and custodial teams.
- Foster a positive and energetic work environment with an emphasis on teamwork and accountability.
- Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and ongoing staff development.
Customer Experience
- Ensure all guests have an exceptional experience from arrival to departure.
- Handle customer issues promptly and professionally to ensure satisfaction and retention.
- Act as a visible and approachable presence on the floor, especially during peak hours.
Facility Operations
- Oversee daily operations including bowling lanes, arcade, bar, and snack bar (if applicable).
- Monitor cleanliness, safety, and functionality of all areas within the center.
- Work closely with internal mechanics and external vendors to maintain pinsetters, scoring systems, and facility equipment.
Financial Management
- Manage daily revenue and expenses; complete daily and weekly sales reports and facilitate bank deposits.
- In conjunction with the corporate team, develop and execute monthly budgets and financial targets.
- Monitor labor and supply costs to maximize profitability.
Sales, Marketing & Events
- With oversight from corporate team members, promote the center locally through partnerships, social media, and community involvement.
- Coordinate and oversee group events, birthday parties, leagues, and corporate outings.
- Assist in the execution of promotional campaigns to drive foot traffic and increase revenue.
Administrative & Technology Use
- Use Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) for reporting, scheduling, and internal communications.
- Maintain employee records, payroll documentation, and safety logs.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including labor and health codes.
Qualifications:
- Three plus years of management experience, preferably in hospitality, entertainment, or recreation.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to lead and motivate diverse teams.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Experience with POS systems, booking software, and beginner maintenance knowledge is a plus.
