Neurology Movement Disorder and Keto Diet RN Coordinator

Overview

Schedule: Monday-Friday (8a-4:30p), 32 hrs/week

Keto Clinic

The dietary therapy program provides medical treatment for children with difficult to control epilepsy. This therapy requires multiple clinic visits, regular communication with families, fine tuning the diet to the individual child, & vitamin/mineral supplementation.

Movement Disorders

Patients are children with movement disorders associated with cerebral palsy, Tourette syndrome, & rare neurogenetic conditions. The nurse will be a member of an interdisciplinary team, collaborating with a movement disorders neurologist & other providers to coordinate care in varied clinical settings.

3 years of nursing experience is required—pediatric is preferred.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

• Provides nursing care using a Family Centered approach.
• Assesses individualized patient needs and plans, implements, educates and evaluates care using Evidence-Based Practices.
• Ensures clinic processes and workflows comply with regulatory and policy compliance.
• Works closely with providers and other team members to ensure a smooth clinic flow addressing patient/parent concerns and attaining positive patient and family outcomes.
• Documents according to organizational standards, policies, and procedures.
• Engages in the “workplace community” by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, understanding Quality Improvement, and representing staff at relevant meetings and then reporting important information and updates back to staff.
  
  

Education Requirement

• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited school, required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred. Must successfully complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
  
  

Licensure Requirement

Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio, required.

Certifications

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, required

Experience

Three years of pediatric clinical experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.
