Gymnastics Instructor

Specific Duties:

• Create and implement class lessons plans to aid in the teaching and development of the participants through the entire session of the class.
• Develop fun and exciting ways to teach gymnastics and keep participants active and engaged.
• Shall maintain the progress of the class in an organized and professional manner.
• Shall report to the Naugatuck YMCA’s Activity Room 10-15 minutes prior to class start time, in order for class set-up. Must stay in the classroom from the start of the class and until the class has been completed.
• Must be able to make decisions and work independently.
• Promote a safe, healthy and fun environment.
• All other duties as assigned by the Sports and Recreation Director.

Qualifications & Requirements

• SafeSport Certification
• Experience coaching kids and communicating with young participants.
• Flexible with the ability to adapt to different environments and schedules.
• Responsible, hard-working, energetic and a self-starter.
• Desire and ability to be a team player.
• Must be over 18 to teach the class.

Physical Requirements: Must have sufficient stamina, strength, and motor coordination to perform the following: Stand for sustained periods of time, walking, running and bending. Occasionally lift and carry up to 30lbs., frequently bend, occasionally twist, frequently crouch and squat, occasionally crawl, occasionally reach and lift above shoulders, occasionally work on uneven ground and slippery surfaces, occasionally kneel, frequently flex and rotate head and neck, use hands in repetitive motions both right and left hands and accurate vision.

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 3 – 6 per week
