Title: Licensing Associate I

Hours: Full-time; 40 hours/week Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
Purpose of Position: Process license payments and assist with data entry as directed by the Licensing Manager to increase licensing compliance and achieve departmental revenue goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Processing of online web licenses.
- Daily entering of new pet licenses and/or pet license renewals into the computer system.
- Daily balancing of cash box.
- Timely and accurate data entry of rabies certificates into the computer system.
- Respond to calls from pet owners with licensing questions and provide timely resolution of problems/complaints.
- Retrieve calls from the licensing voicemail system on a daily basis and respond appropriately.
- Respond to emails from pet owners with licensing questions and provide timely resolution of problems/complaints.
- Respond to questions from internal departments concerning licensing procedures and fees.
- Assist with the processing of daily receipts for stored pet licenses and with the folding and stuffing of pet license tags and receipts.
- Assist the Licensing Manager with database maintenance which includes merging duplicate files, updating tag status for dead or inactive animals, etc.
- Perform any and all other duties as assigned by the Licensing Manager.

Required
- High school diploma or equivalent certification
- Strong keyboarding skills
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to be self-directed and self-motivated
- Detail oriented
- Ability to proofread
- Good vision for detailed work
- Ability to handle stress
- Ability to maintain project momentum despite frequent interruptions
- Ability to be flexible in dealing with people and projects
Desired
- Experience using Chameleon database
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Two (2) years of data entry experience
Work Conditions:

Extended periods of sitting at a desk, entering information on the computer.- The noise level in the office environment is usually quiet, though barking or whining of animals may be escalated at certain times in certain areas of the building.
- High exposure to animals whose reactions to the shelter environment cannot be predicted.
- Temperatures in the shelter environment are varied, though usually moderate, and dependent on the season.
- Potential exposure to zoonotic diseases and hazardous chemicals.
- Ability to work around animals without severe allergic reactions.
- As work may need to be done outside of the shelter, the employee may encounter environmental issues outside of our control such as fallen tree limbs, rain storms or snow/ice. When this occurs the employee must report the issues immediately to their direct supervisor who will work to resolution.
