Position Summary
Necco has an opportunity for a career as a Business Analyst. This individual will add the most value to the company by answering wide-ranging business questions. This individual must be able define the questions being asked, identify appropriate resources, conduct research, and generate facts that answer the questions. Problem solving is a must.
The candidate selected will be responsible for the following:
Collaboration
- Work closely with business leaders across all functional lines to learn data deficiencies and questions that are going unanswered
- Run reports, compile data in applications such as Excel, analyze, and answer questions with data-based facts
- Attend ad hoc meetings and present fact-based findings and analysis from problem solving efforts
- Identify gaps in business processes and reporting and communicate those to the Director of Business Analysis
- Act as a knowledge source for architects, developers, and testers
Documentation
- Document solutions for answering business questions so that process may be replicated
- Translate business needs into visual mock-ups for data & analytics team
Business Requirements
- Gather requirements from stakeholders and subject matter experts
- Develop process maps and requirement flow documentation where needed
Applications
- Utilize Microsoft Excel to collect data from various source applications
- Create Pivot Tables, charts, and graphs to help visualize the data and analysis
- Create simple and straight-forward visuals to present analyses using applications such as Microsoft Power Point
- Provide coordination from the business perspective for user acceptance training
- Identify defects discovered by testers and serve as liaison with appropriate technical resources
Position Qualifications
- High School diploma with college coursework from an accredited college or university preferred
- At least one year of experience working in Child Welfare preferred
- Ability to compile and analyze large data sets and present effective visuals
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to anticipate problems and build requirements and request reports to cover the issues
- Ability to practice self-directed execution and follow-through
