Job Summary:
Neubert, Pepe & Monteith, P.C. is seeking a skilled and motivated Litigation Associate to join our insurance defense legal team. As a Litigation Associate, you will be assisting in the handling of all aspects of auto and premises liability cases in the Hartford office. As a Litigation Associate, you will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of the litigation process, including legal research, drafting legal documents, negotiating settlements, and representing clients in court. Duties:
- Conduct legal research using various resources such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Assist with case management, including organizing and maintaining case files
- Prepare for and attend court hearings, trials, and depositions
- Collaborate with senior attorney to develop case strategies
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in the litigation process
- Conduct negotiations to reach favorable settlements on behalf of clients
- Stay up-to-date on relevant laws and regulations affecting litigation practice
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the state bar association
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent research and analytical abilities
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Proficiency in legal administrative tasks such as document management and case organization
- Familiarity with legal drafting techniques and principles
- Experience conducting legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis or Westlaw
- Ability to litigate cases effectively in court
