We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized individual to join our team as a Hockey Operations Assistant with marketing and social media responsibilities. The Hockey Operations Assistant will support the day-to-day operations of our hockey programs while also contributing to marketing initiatives and managing our social media presence. The ideal candidate should have a strong passion for hockey, excellent communication skills, and a creative mindset for marketing and social media management.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive plans for hockey tournaments, including scheduling, logistics, registration, and participant communication
- Oversee the registration process, including managing online registration platforms, collecting fees, and maintaining accurate participant records
- Collaborate with the hockey operations team to develop and implement marketing strategies to promote our hockey programs
- Manage the organization's social media accounts, creating engaging content, monitoring analytics, and responding to inquiries and comments
- Assist in the production of marketing materials, such as brochures, flyers, website content, and email campaigns
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for program growth and improvement
- Support the organization and execution of community events, promotional activities, and fundraising initiatives
- Assist with administrative tasks, including data entry, record keeping, and inventory management
- Stay up to date with industry trends, marketing techniques, and social media best practices to enhance our online presence
- Collaborate with coaches, staff members, and volunteers to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service
- Provide assistance during tournaments, leagues, and events as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience
- Strong knowledge and passion for the sport of hockey
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders
- Creative mindset with ability to develop engaging marketing materials
- Proficiency in social media platforms, digital marketing tools, and content management systems
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of graphic design software and video editing tools
- Availability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends to accommodate program schedules and events
- Experience in hockey operations, marketing, or social media management is a plus
