What are the responsibilities and job description for the Case Resolution Assistant position at New Hampshire Public Defender?
Description
The Case Resolution Assistant is responsible for obtaining the necessary information from the NH Courts and NHPD attorneys to close cases in the NHPD database. The CRA is also responsible for drafting case closing letters for staff attorneys.
Key Responsibilities
Include but may not be limited to:
•Contacting the Court Center to obtain case summaries
•Utilizing the NHJB Case Portal
•Input information into case management system
•Closing the case in case management system
•Drafting closing letters for attorneys
•Assisting NHPD in providing quality representation to its clients
Requirements
Education and Experience
•A secondary education degree is required, preferably with a concentration in legal studies or English. This requirement may be substituted for comparable work experience.
•Minimum of 1 year of administrative experience preferred.
•Ability to develop an understanding of legal documents and terminology.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
•Excellent grammar and written communication skills
•Strong attention to detail
•Ability to work with minimal oversight
•Desire and ability to work with indigent community
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
•Strong organizational & time management skills
•Working knowledge of the NHJB Case Portal is a plus
Physical Requirements
Physical requirements include retrieving and distributing files, written documents, or office supplies weighing up to 20 pounds; retrieving and replacing objects from shelves up to eight feet high; sitting and keyboarding for extended periods of time.
A valid driver's license and insured automobile are required; the ability to drive to Concord, NH on occasion is required.
