Position Information:
New Hanover County is seeking an Administrative Technician to join the Centralized Support Services Section of the Consolidated Health and Human Services Agency. As a member of Centralized Services, an Administrative Technician provides exceptional customer service to our customers. Duties include registration and determining eligibility for various programs, according to requirements; records management, including entering and retrieving information, scanning documents, researching information using various internal systems; answering and directing calls, appointment scheduling, providing referral information; compiling information and preparing various reports; and other duties as assigned.
This position is in a fast paced, high volume office environment. The ideal candidate must be a critical thinker, able to multi-task, process information quickly and accurately and prioritize changing needs while maintaining a focus on providing quality customer service.

Work ScheduleHours are 8:00 - 5:00 Monday - Friday. Must be available to work during emergency situations.
Salary Information:
The hiring range for this position begins at $36,325 plus a competitive benefits package. Salary will be determined based on qualifications. Bilingual candidates are eligible for a differential (5%) when performing Spanish language interpretation during the course of work.

Required Education and Experience:
- An equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, education, training, and experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the functions of the role and successfully perform the essential duties, equivalent to 1 year of clerical, data entry, administrative support, or related experience.
- High School diploma/GED
- Must be proficient in Microsoft software programs, including Excel, and the ability to learn new software systems.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
- The work is sedentary work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
What will make your application stand out:
- Experience using Salesforce is a plus.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
- Valid North Carolina Driver’s License required by first date of employment with good driving record.
