What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Drafter position at New Insight Engineering?
New Insight Engineering is seeking a remote electrical CAD drafter to create and/or modify drawings from engineer-provided markups. Drafter will work directly with designer engineers, and project managers to produce multiple drawings with a high level of detail and efficiency to meet client deadlines and budgets.
Main areas of draft work include:
- Protection & Control, SCADA, Communications (Single Line Diagrams, Schematics, SCADA and Communication drawings, Control Building Layouts and Elevations, Panel Front Views and Cabinet Layouts, Wiring Diagrams, Interconnection Drawings, AC/DC Station Service drawings and other miscellaneous drawings as required by project scope)
- Physical Electrical (General Arrangement, Electrical Plans, Electrical Elevations, Sections and Details, Foundation Plans and Details, Structural Details, Grounding Plan and Details, Raceway Plan and Details, Equipment Vendor Files and other drawings as required by project scope).

Required Education and Experience
- Completion of a high school diploma or general equivalency degree (GED)
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)-
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the electrical
- engineering/architectural field
Preferred Experience
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the electrical engineering/architectural field
- Proficiency with manipulating vector and raster drawing files in AutoCAD
- File sharing, document management and collaboration tools such as ProjectWise, SharePoint, etc.
- 1 years in electrical drafting
