Full-Time, Non-Union, Non-Exempt Position
$25.00 per hour, 40 hours per week
BASIC FUNCTION OF RESIDENTIAL SERVICES COORDINATOR:
The position entails the comprehensive oversight of a HUD-subsidized 14-unit multi-family housing project designated for tenants with disabilities. Responsibilities include both social and administrative duties, such as accounting and management tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the project.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF RESIDENTIAL SERVICES COORDINATOR:
- Work with NSGT residents to identify, access, and coordinate services, including personal care services and linkages to state benefit programs.
- Encourage and motivate residents to engage with providers and participate in their own care/services management;
- Develop and arrange wellness and other educational programs and services for residents;
- Sustain and develop partnerships with community-based supportive service providers and other community stakeholders;
- Foster a sense of community within the project where tenants can take advantage of and participate in the different services and activities.
- Maintain resident files of forms and related information in a well-organized system, following HUD guidelines while maintaining confidentiality at all times.
- Coordinate the timely completion of annual HUD recertification for each tenant, which determines tenant rent due. Follow up with tenants and third parties as required on missing documentation.
- Work with third-party HUD consultants or internal staff on the tenant recertification process and the administration of HUD regulations within the building.
- Enforce regulations found in the Tenant Handbook of House Rules to ensure that all tenants experience quiet enjoyment of their apartments. Update the Tenant Handbook of House Rules as needed.
- Work with residents to address complaints and resolve conflicts.
- Maintain a waiting list of prospective tenants to fill vacancies at the project.
- Work with the Operations & Specialty Projects Coordinator to ensure that property issues are addressed and the building is maintained in a clean and safe manner using the agency's third-party contractor, in accordance with HUD regulations.
- Prepare a monthly report of activities for the supervisor and present the report at the monthly Board of Directors’ meeting.
- Be available for emergencies, on-call duties, resident functions, and weekends as needed.
- Develop and manage operating budgets, billing processes, operating reports, and all accounting functions including invoicing and expense tracking. Monitor revenue transactions and rent collection, handle nonpayment of rent processes, follow up with collection agencies and report accordingly. Oversee leasing procedures and other regulatory requirements, and enact cost control measures as needed.
- Develop working knowledge of fair housing standards and HUD Section 811 projects.
- Become a full-service resident service coordinator by attending trainings, seminars, and conferences.
- Actively participate in professional development opportunities provided by agency.

REQUIREMENTS OF RESIDENTIAL SERVICES COORDINATOR:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree preferred
Experience:
- Minimum of three years experience in social services
- Knowledge of HUD regulations preferred
