Our growing company is in search for new talent for the role of Grain Scale Operator.
Summary: Operate scale at specified location, originate grain, assist with truck dispatching and producer grain settlements at specified location, promote all New Vision products and services, build positive goodwill with current and prospective customers. Has experience in scale operation, grain sampling and grading, understanding of USDA grain grades and standards, basic accounting and computer skills, public relations skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Supports New Vision Co-op’s stated Vision, Mission, and Business Values.
- Projects a positive attitude to customers and employees at all times.
- Provides outstanding and courteous customer service.
- Read and follow company employee policies.
- Properly weigh, sample, and grade grain deliveries and notify appropriate grain clerical staff of errors and corrections.
- Notify grain hedge desk of all grain purchases immediately.
- Originate producer grain and complete daily log noting results of producer contacts.
- Assist in New Vision accounting and office support as requested.
- Encourage customers to consider other New Vision products and services.
- Accept additional responsibilities and duties as directed by the Supervisor, Grain Department Manager or Chief Executive Officer.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Possess a basic understanding of machinery operation and dry material handling.
- Able to learn grain elevator operations on the job.
- Possess the ability to communicate clearly with customers and co-workers.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work as a team member.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Knowledge of keyboarding, Accounting software; Word Processing software.
- Valid driver’s license
