What are the responsibilities and job description for the Corporate Counsel position at New Western?
New Western is searching for an experienced corporate counsel with excellent analytical, communication, diplomatic, research and writing skills. We are in need of an exceptionally responsible candidate with great communication, analytical, and negotiation skills. A corporate counsel develops the organization’s policies on issues related to the industry, corporate governance, and regulatory matters.
Although we are headquartered in Irving, Texas, this is a fully remote role.
\n- Regularly respond to requests pertaining to Financial Crimes Enforcement (“FinCEN”) and requests for business organization documents.
- Draft legal documents.
- Review and manage new business relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
- Analyze legal issues relating to proposed products and services.
- Design and implement playbooks to guide our real estate agents in the field.
- Draft responses to governmental authorities and real estate commissions.
- Negotiate and draft contractual agreements, such as real estate leases, and advising on employment matters.
- Preparing, reviewing and negotiating company contracts, requests for proposals and other legal documents.
- Provide supervision to outside lawyers hired to assist the corporation with their specialized legal services
- A Juris Doctorate from an ABA-approved law school, good standing with the Bar, and a license to practice law in any of the following states: AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, MA, MO, NC, NV, OH, OK, PA, SC, TN, TX, WA.
- A background in business and real estate and finance are preferred.
