Job Title: Oracle DBA and Data Analyst

Responsibilities:

Job Description:

Database administration & performance tuning of Oracle ODAs

Database administration of SQL Server in a VM environment

Installation, maintenance and patching of Linux and Windows OS, Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL and DB2

Maintenance of RAC and failover

Provide database support for multiple COTS applications with production, test and development environments

Establish, document and test database DR plans

Familiarity with encryption, partitioning and performance tuning

Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong problem-solving skills.

Familiar with ETL tools to develop Dashboards

Willing to take on and learn additional application responsibilities.

Basic Qualifications:

At least 5 year of database administration in an Oracle environment

At least 2 year of database administration in a SQL Server environment

Installing and upgrading the database server and application tool, patching Oracle, SQL and Linux OS

Allocating system storage and planning storage requirements for the database system

Enrolling users and maintaining system security

Ensuring compliance with database vendor license agreements

Controlling and monitoring user access to the database

Monitoring and optimizing the performance of the database

Planning for backup and recovery of database information

Maintaining archived data

Backing up and restoring databases

Contacting database vendor for technical support

Managing and monitoring data replication

Self-starter who will work independently

A team player who enjoys supporting all team members

Desired Skills:

Generating various reports by querying from database as per need

Knowledge of structured query language (SQL), PL/SQL/TSQL

General understanding of storage technologies and networking

General understanding of routine maintenance, recovery, and failover of a database including Data Guard, AG, RAC, FCI

Development and testing of Disaster Recovery Plans

Experience in Developing Dash boards for Leadership Team.

Experience Minimum:

5 years of database administration

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems OR certification in either Oracle or SQL Server database administration
