Major Gifts Officer - Development

NewYork-Presbyterian seeks a Major Gifts Officer for Women’s Health based at our corporate office in midtown. This position will work closely with physicians, volunteers, and staff to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward gifts of $100,000 .
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with other staff in the Development Office
- Be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Manage a portfolio of approximately 150 major gift prospects, including personally soliciting these prospects
- Design, implement, and assess effective strategies to cultivate and solicit major gift prospects
- Engage physicians, administration, volunteers, and staff, involving them in strategy development and solicitations, keeping them apprised of interactions, and collaborating to ensure maximum fundraising effectiveness
- Staff committees and various cultivation and stewardship events
- Maintain knowledge of relevant clinical developments and fundraising trends.
Preferred Criteria
- Demonstrated success soliciting and closing major gifts
- Experience building and maintaining long-term relationships with major-gift level donors
- Solid experience managing and tracking multiple prospects and donors
- Demonstrated ability to navigate within a fast-paced, highly-complex organization emphasizing teamwork, respect, and excellence
- Strong organizational and planning skills with attention to detail
- Appreciation and understanding of NewYork-Presbyterian’s mission and the ability to effectively communicate it
Required Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 3 years of direct fundraising experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
