Position Specific Description
This position is responsible for the accounting and settlements for revenues and costs related to PMI managed load transactions. This job ensures accurate calculations and proper recording of transactions in the company's financial statements in accordance with GAAP, while maintaining compliance with company policies, procedures and Sox controls. This role collaborates with PMI front office, Trading Risk Management, NEER business managers, NEER Financial Controllers, counterparties, auditors, NEE tax, FPL finance, and IT teams, providing accounting support, troubleshooting issues, and identifying solutions to ensure accurate accounting and reporting.

Job Specific Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Collaborate and communicate frequently with PMI front office on accounting and reporting tasks including P&L checkouts, month-end financial close processes, and unbilled calculations
- Conduct data analysis and reviews, collaborating with PMI/EMT front office, business management, customers and IT to resolve data issues and disputes efficiently
- Review manual calculations for complex managed load transactions that cannot be automated
- Train, monitor, and provide guidance to lower-level staff on managed load and other activities to ensure their understanding and proficiency
- Execute various accounting responsibilities including posting invoices, month-end close, financial reporting, audit support, AR & AP aging reviews, and providing variance explanations
- Develop accounting policies and procedures as needed for new managed load transactions
- Support the development of design requirements to automate new and existing processes, and perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Other duties and special projects as assigned by the ISO & Power Accounting Manager
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Energy Settlement Experience (ISO and Georgia Power)
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Microsoft Excel proficiency

- Develops, analyzes, and interprets accounting information and results
- Provides analytical support of financial statements and general ledger
- Prepares financial statements and related disclosures
- Ensures SEC reporting and SOX compliance and system of internal and accounting controls
- Consolidates multiple company financial statements
- Maintains system of accounts, books and records on transactions and assets
- Coordinates annual audit with independent auditors
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
