Roles and Responsibilities:
- Directs the development of the Bus and Rail Operating Budgets to ensure adequate funding of all planned expenditures. Directs the development of financial and operating performance measures and targets based on analyses and Senior Management priorities
- Reviews analyses of financial performance against operating budgets and against established measures of financial and operating performance. Recommends appropriate corrective actions
- Reviews analyses pertaining to relevant financial issues. Oversees a comprehensive database for development and preparation of budget and financial presentations, reports, press releases and reviews
- Ensures appropriate contact with State officials (DOT, OMB, OLS, Governor’s Office), federal agencies (DOT, FTA), APTA, other transportation properties and transportation advocacy groups
- Provides guidance on sound financial management and budgeting principles. Provides appropriate training pertaining to budgeting processes, using client/server and personal computer systems and applications
Knowledge and Skills Required
Essential:
- Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or other related field
- Eight (8) years of budget and financial experience including five (5) years of management level experience
- Knowledge of mainframe, client/server and personal computer financial applications required
- Microsoft Office Suite with strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Preferred:
- MBA/ CPA Oracle experience
