Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develops maintenance schedules and implements procedures for the efficient maintenance of the rail infrastructure for assigned division by maintaining both electrified and non-electrified railroad right of way.
- Oversees maintenance groups, conducts Quality Control inspections and assists in scheduling track time to complete work.
- Programs future right of way work and sets up appropriate budgets.
- Follows up on required FRA reports and inspections insuring completion and verifying for accuracy.
- Ensures compliance with Labor contracts and negotiates grievances.
- Trains field supervisors, instilling quality control, safety and efficiency.
- Bachelor degree in Engineering discipline or equivalent from a US Department of Education accredited college or institution; and seven (7) years of progressive managerial or supervisory experience in railroad engineering.
- One year of closely related experience can be substituted for each year of education required.
