Position Information
Working Title Associate Dean - (NKU) Internal Only Department College of Health and Human Services Full Time or Part Time? Full Time Position Number Purpose of Position
The Associate Dean is a leader and champion in the areas of assessment, accreditation, and faculty and staff success. The Associate Dean provides College-level leadership, management, and oversight of financial and academic affairs in CHHS. In this context, academic affairs under the oversight of the Associate Dean include ensuring robust program, school, and college assessment, accreditation support and maintenance of accreditation documents, as well as other projects assigned by the Dean.
The Associate Dean is also responsible for administrative activities in the College including the development and implementation of budget development, overseeing Office of the Dean personnel, and collaborating with the Dean and others to develop and implement strategic initiatives related to budget.
Organizational Relationship
The Associate Dean reports directly to the Dean of CHHS. The Associate Dean supervises academic coordinators in the Office of the Dean

Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
Operations
- Provide oversight and leadership of daily administrative functions of the College including:
- Financial Management
- Audits
- HR Functions
- Budgetary Operations
- Procurement Policies
- Provide administrative support and guidance to Dean’s office staff
- Coordinate special projects and initiatives as identified by the Dean
- Coordinate the hiring process for faculty and staff, ensuring that hiring policies are followed
- Coordinate with College leadership to ensure appropriate orientation and mentoring are implemented for newly hired faculty and staff
- Lead faculty and staff in the development, implementation, and evaluation of mentoring programming to support student success in the College
- Provide leadership for staff through college wide staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities
- Work with faculty to develop professional development opportunities
- Develop innovative ways to cultivate a culture of belonging for faculty and staff in CHHS
- Coordinate with the lead of the College Presence and Marketing Committee to promote faculty and staff highlights within the college and externally
- Provide leadership, support, and mentoring for all assessment and accreditation activities in the College
- Coordinate, review, and evaluate:
- Internal and external program reviews
- Annual Assessment Updates (i.e. Weave reports)
- Provide logistical support for accreditation site reviews and other external activities related to academic affairs
- Ensure that all accreditation reports and letters are saved in an organized manner on the CHHS K Drive
- Maintain a master calendar of accreditation cycles for all accredited CHHS programs
- Assist School Directors and faculty with new Program/certificate applications
- Serve on the University Assessment Committee
- Serve on the University A-Deans Committee
- Serve as Acting Dean in the absence of the Dean or when appointed by the Dean
- Serve as the Dean’s official representative when and where directed and as appropriate
