Requirements
- Minimum of two years of total surgical tech experience
- At least one year of experience within the last three years (specific jobs may require more)
- Active certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) is required, depending on the job
- RN degree from an accredited registered nurse program

Surgical technologists play a vital role in a hospital's healthcare team, acting as a surgeon's right-hand person. Their responsibilities include preparing surgical equipment, assisting surgeons and surgical assistants before, during, and after procedures. Some additional responsibilities may include:
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Coordinating with facility teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
- Maintaining accurate and detailed reports and records
- Providing individualized, non-judgmental, and non-discriminatory care to all patients, families, and staff
To be considered for this position, you must have active certification from NBSTA or NCCT, along with evidence of at least one year of experience as a General surgical technologist or first assistant. Additionally, you must have graduated from an accredited school within your discipline and scored 80% or higher on all Nomad Health competency exams.
