POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs various patient care activities and related non-professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of the assigned patients as directed by the Registered Nurse. In addition, may perform other duties specific to the unit assigned.

- Provides direct patient care
- Performs specific documentation in the patient's record
- Maintains equipment and supplies and participates in quality assurance
- Communicates appropriate information intradepartmental and interdepartmental
- Assists and participates in staff education and pursues continuing education for personal development.
- Applies knowledge of age-related factors appropriately to patients, utilizing appropriate policies and procedures
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.
Education: Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: One to three years previous relevant experience preferred
Licenses: N/A
Certifications: Requires completion of a health care provider BLS (Basic Life Support) CPR course within the first two weeks of employment. Nursing Assistant Certificate preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Works in well-lit, ventilated and climate-controlled office environment with routine office equipment; some equipment has moving mechanical parts.
In hospital environment, may be exposed to hazards and unusual elements, which may include but are not limited to bloodborne pathogens and / or contagious illnesses, toxic chemicals, and biohazardous materials which may require extensive safety precautions and the use of protective equipment.
Noise level in the work environment is typical for an office and/or hospital environment.
