Position Overview
Primary Purpose of Position | The Department of Chemistry has an immediate opening for one postdoctoral researcher position to work in the Department of Energy-sponsored project at North Carolina A&T State University. The successful candidate will carry out research on the synthesis of porous Mxenes and its application in energy conversion. This project focuses on a detailed understanding of the correlation between synthesis and processing routes, structure, structural defects, and properties of 2D MXenes with an intention to use this understanding to guide the selection of the best material for energy storage technology. The unique architecture of this designed structure enables the efficient use of layered materials for charge storage due to the facilitated transport of both electrolyte ions and electrons, thus providing a better supercapacitor performance. The porous structure provides more accessible reactive sites in the capacitive process because of the enhanced surface-to-volume ratio and/or enlarged effective surface area per unit mass, leading to a higher energy density y. |
