Position: Optometric Technician

Pay commensurate upon experience. Experience is not required. The ideal candidate is friendly, outgoing and enjoys working closely with people. He or she must be proficient with new technology, and can provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a caring and organized presence. We are looking for someone ready to settle down with a company and learn all we have to offer! We work hard to keep up on the latest technology and so there is never a shortage of things to learn!

**Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, and be flexible with job duties.**

Qualifications:

- Enthusiastic, friendly and can easily talk to people in person and over the phone

- Strong customer service and oral/written communication skills

- Organized and attentive to detail

- Resourceful and self-motivated

- Proficient with computers and technology

- Ability to efficiently manage time and prioritize tasks

Some Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Interact and assist with patients and doctors in an articulate and professional manner

- Accurately and concisely record patient medical histories

- Perform pretesting with patients such as visual acuity, color vision, depth perception, pupil reflexes, visual field testing, eye pressure, and retinal photographs

- Instruct and oversee patient understanding of the proper use of glasses and contact lenses prescribed to them

- Maintain accurate records of the patient exam and efficiently scribe for the doctors

- Maintain inventory of ophthalmic supplies

- Operate ophthalmic diagnostic equipment

- Assist in general office support services such as: reception, answering phones, scheduling appointments, registering patients, assisting with insurance, collecting payments and pharmaceutical pre-authorizations and other duties as assigned

- Assist with Optical duties such as dispensing glasses, reading prescriptions, and cleaning and putting out frames

- Assist patients with frame and lens selection

- Assist with ordering and dispensing glasses and contact lenses

Pay: $16.50 - $19.00 per hour
