North Dakota Information Technology (NDIT) is seeking an Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) Administrator for our Technology Division.
As an ITS Administrator you will be part of a team responsible in the design, implementation, day-to-day operations, and support of North Dakota Department of Transportation’s Intelligent Transportation System. This position in onsite in Bismarck, and will require travel to sites across the state (including some overnights) when necessary, as well as some outdoor and after-hours work. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license.
In this role you will:
- Administer, manage, and troubleshoot hardware and software such as ITS, radio, and network systems
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics for network, ITS, and radio infrastructure
- Facilitate, coordinate, and manage incident response across one of many products and/or vendors
- Use tactful, diplomatic communications abilities to share highly technical information to technical and non-technical audiences
- Support the demands for Intelligent Transportation Systems for NDDOT and be involved in both transportation related constructions projects and steady state work.

They will help the agency drive innovation through monitoring and evaluating emerging technologies to determine impact on services and feasibility of implementation.
To be considered for the ITS Administrator role, you must have:
An Associate degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Management Information Systems or a closely related area and 1 year of related, current work experience with electronic technologies. This experience should include supporting, administering and implementing complex enterprise servers and applications. Experience maintaining fiber optic cabling is strongly preferred.
Current and progressive work experience as listed above may be substituted for the education requirement on a year for year basis.
Salary : $6,700 - $7,100
