We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Specialist to join our team who will be responsible for executing departmental policies, procedures, and general accounting functions to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles ("GAAP"). You will play a major role in assisting senior Accounting Specialists and the Controller with day-to-day tasks and procedures associated with payroll processing. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (Included, but not limited to):
- Support Account Managers with client balances, preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers
- Process company disbursements and actively oversee banking transactions
- Perform month-end and year-end closings and account analysis following tight deadlines
- Complete state and federal filings, and prepare for audit processes
- Enter loan payments into AMS and maintain loan amortization schedules
- Review and approve ACH exceptions
- Implement internal financial controls and procedures
- Receive, approve, code, and investigate client accounts payable invoices
- Assist with tax research and corresponding state tax questions
- Compile and prepare appropriate schedules, statements, and reports of a complex nature as requested
- Process North Risk Partners insurance company direct bill commission statements
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITES:
- Perform miscellaneous projects and complete various tasks as requested by management
Requirements
Education, Experience, and Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required
- 2-5 years of accounting work experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations (GAAP)
- Demonstrated excellent verbal, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail with ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
