The Claims Administrator will serve as a property and casualty claims advocate on behalf of North Risk’s clients. This position works closely with Risk Advisors across the company. The Claims Administrator will resolve issues for clients by developing trusted relationships and serving as an expert advocate.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide service, expertise, and guidance to insured(s) and claimant(s) with a planned approach for prompt, fair handling of property and casualty claims.
- Aid on claim denials and reservation of rights to ensure coverage is applied appropriately.
- Develop action plans on high exposure claims.
- Work on accounts that receive additional services.
- Monitor specific claims with a goal to insure reserve and claims handling accuracy.
- Work with insurance adjusters to obtain the best claim resolution. Challenging in a respectful way.
- Coordinate and conduct claim review meetings.
- Set priorities and manage workflow to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate product by utilizing the company's software system(s).
- Collaborate with Risk Advisors to identify claim issues, potential solutions, strategies, and services for clients.
- Prepare and analyze loss history, experience modifications, and claims reports to identify loss trends with the goal of reducing the cost of risk.
- Mentor Associate Claims Administrators.
Requirements
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- A combination of education and experience generally attained through Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree and a minimum of 6 years work experience in property and casualty insurance.
- Property and Casualty insurance license (or obtain within 120 days).
- Thorough knowledge of commercial insurance coverage and claims processes.
- Negotiation and policy interpretation skills.
- Strong written and verbal skills.
- Maintain internal and external relationships with professionalism.
- Travel as necessary for client meetings.
- Professional designation (AIC, CPCU etc.) strongly preferred.
- Ability to carry out complex tasks with many variables.
- Proficient in Excel, Word and Database programs.
- Knowledge of ModMaster and basic concepts.
- Strong client empathy.
