About the Opportunity The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences within the Bouve College of Health Sciences at Northeastern University is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to work under the direction of Jie Shen. The Post-Doctoral Fellow will be responsible for the formulation development and characterization, in vitro and in vivo performance testing deliverables for drug candidates in early and later stages of clinical development and/or generic drug product development. He/she will contribute to the FDA funded grants on the development of bioequivalence assessment approaches for complex dosage forms such as locally-acting and extended release dosage forms. The Fellow will be involved in publication, presentations, grant writing, lab management as well as mentoring of junior level researchers in the laboratory. Qualifications: A PhD degree with a focus in pharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics, pharmacology, biomedical or chemical engineering, or other related field. Hands-on proficiency in formulation characterization, in vitro performance testing (e.g., in vitro release and/or permeation study), HPLC/LC-MS, and using pharmacokinetics tools, including but not limited to, Simulations Plus, Phoenix (e.g., IVIVC toolkit) and Simcyp. Understanding of in vitro release and bioequivalence assessment principles and strategies. Hands-on proficiency in cell culture, tissue processing and animal study skills. Ability to develop and deliver clear and concise presentations for both internal and external meetings. Publication record in pharmaceutics related fields. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
