What are the responsibilities and job description for the CLINICAL LAB SCIENTIST position at Northern Inyo Healthcare District?
JOB SUMMARY: The Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) is a professional state licensed position within the hospital clinical laboratory. A CLS is expected to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality in all areas involving patients and their related hospital business. Conducts hospital business in an ethical and lawful manner, and is willing to report any knowledge of real or potential fraud or abuse according to the NIH Compliance Code of Conduct. Abides by all NIH Personnel and Payroll Policies and Procedures. Abides by Departmental Policies and Procedures, and standards of performance and conduct.
JOB RELATIONSHIPS:
1. Directly responsible to the Director of Laboratory
2. This position provides supervisory support to Clinical Laboratory Scientists, Laboratory Assistants or Phlebotomists.
3. Works closely with hospital district leadership and departments as well as internal and external customers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license.
• Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist
• Must demonstrate a strong attention to details and work with minimal supervision.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with other team members and departments.
• Conduct, appearance and work performance shall be of professional quality.
12 hour shift, must be flexible in days and hours worked. Some weekends may be required.
