Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC)
The Northern Neck Regional Jail is seeking candidates for a full time Certified Substance Abuse Counselor to provide counseling to incarcerated individuals to assist in understanding and coping with substance dependence. Duties include performing assessments of inmate needs; developing treatment plans; conducting group counseling sessions and/or substance abuse education classes; and performing individual counseling as needed.
Qualifications, Education and Experience: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with CSAC, or National Certification or Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in substance abuse, psychology, sociology, social work, rehabilitation, criminal justice or closely related areas.
Required-Certified Substance Abuse Certification or national certification.
Successful applicants must undergo a background investigation and polygraph. The starting salary for this position is $46,448.74.
