What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recovery Court Probation Officer position at Northern Neck Regional Jail?
The Northern Regional Jail is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Recovery Court Probation Officer to supervise participants placed in the Recovery Court program by the Northern Neck and Essex Adult Recovery Court Program. Sample of duties include submitting reports to the Court, testifying in Court, drug testing, residential visits, attending and participating in Drug Court Team meetings, and collaborating with the Drug Court Coordinator.
This position establishes and monitors community service work for program participants and ensures that all special conditions of the Court are fulfilled. This position requires regular attendance at court proceedings, maintenance of accurate automated drug court statistics and case files, and performs substance use assessments and makes appropriate referrals. Night and weekend hours sometimes required.
Preferred Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, or related work experience including functional or operational administrative experience in a criminal justice, jail or corrections setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Successful applicants must undergo a background investigation and polygraph. The starting salary for this position is $44,296.54.
