NMC is currently recruiting for a Surgical Scheduler in Northwestern Orthopaedics. This position is a full-time (80 hours bi-weekly) position, hours are Mon-Fri 8a-4:30p.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Surgical Scheduler must schedule the operating room and ambulatory surgical procedures consistent with the patient’s diagnosis and procedure request. Position familiarization with medical terminology and some clinical knowledge to schedule appropriate procedures/surgeries per provider’s orders. Also requires excellent customer service skills with patients, employees, and the public. The Surgical Scheduler must be able to respond to both written and oral correspondence regarding scheduling changes/cancellations in a timely, accurate manner. Individual must be organized, and be able to manage demanding workload in a busy environment with accuracy.
PREREQUISITES
Education: High school graduate or GED, medical terminology
Experience: 1-3 years experience in a healthcare setting , prefer scheduling experience and demonstrated success at customer service
