We have a non-profit company in San Francisco seeking a Senior HR Generalist to support their team on a Contract basis! This position could be contract to hire for the right person.
Ideal candidate for this position would have advance experience and knowledge on overall benefits along with core HR abilities.
This position would be the benefits administrator for the HR Team along with supporting other HR projects alongside the HR Director and HRBP's.
Position pays up to $45/hr
This role is NOT off a Bart Station! Candidate has to either drive into SF and pay for parking or living in SF Proper is ideal.
Duties and Responsibilities will include:
- Facilitates all leave administration processes (including FMLA, ADA and other leaves or accommodation requests) from the employees' initial request for leave up to and including their return to work. This includes partnering with our 3rd party provider to gather and complete all required paperwork, determining leave eligibility, requesting medical certification as needed, and accounting for intermittent and reduced schedule leave use.
- Work closely with employees and business partners to resolve confidential enquiries with employees regarding their needs for leave and/or modified work schedules. Ensures that employees are aware of their responsibilities and of any documentation and notice required to qualify for and to take leave.
- Design, deploy and manage the administration and implementation of all company employee benefit programs.
- Ensure the company innovates and adapts its benefits programs to support business goals, staying ahead of market trends and ensuring our rewards framework remains market leading. You will implement scalable solutions to drive business impact while inspiring talent.
- Implement benefits practices to attract and retain our workforce. Focus will encompass all stages of the employee experience - from external candidate to new employee to tenured employee
- Coordinate the benefits open enrollment process (includes communication and Open Enrollment meeting scheduling, working closely with the third-party vendors)
- Manage the new hire orientation process to ensure candidates have a successful on-boarding experience
- Partner with cross-functional managers to ensure new employees have the necessary training from various departments such as Facilities, Technical Support and Accounting to set them up for success
- Oversee Workers’ Compensation cases and claims as needed, including direct contact with attorneys, physicians & insurance carriers.
- Conduct exit interviews
- Act as first point of contact for EDD
- Exhibits strong user ability in both Word and Excel
Qualifications:
- 8 years of progressive HR experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
- PHR/SPHR Certification preferred
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
- Excellent interpersonal skills: warmth, sensitivity to others, customer service focus in person & on the phone
