Tax Accountant

Position Summary

The Tax Accountant is responsible for assigned tax, and compliance functions and processes within the Finance Department. This is an internal, not a public accounting role. The Tax Accountant will firm’s tax returns, complete various regulatory compliance tasks, and perform tax research. This is a remote or hybrid role and the Tax Accountant will report to the Finance Manager.

The firm has one available position in either Dover, OH, Cleveland, OH, Atlanta, GA, Austin, TX, Malvern, PA, Portland, OR, or Plantation, FL.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the partnership and composite tax returns for the firm

• Prepare and file personal property and various multistate tax returns for multiple locations and entities

• Calculate and prepare quarterly estimated payments and extensions

• Research new tax rules, local tax and compliance requirements for state and local jurisdictions

• Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual tasks to ensure compliance with professional, local, state, and federal regulations

• Additional duties and projects as assigned

Background and Skills

• Exhibit a strong understanding of accounting and tax rules

• Ability to meet deadlines and effectively prioritize a fast-paced and varied workload, effectively manage a variety of concurrent and shifting priorities

• Ability to research tax rules and efficiently organize and present findings

• Knowledge of local and state tax rules is a plus

• Superior organizational and follow-through skills, performing work accurately with strong attention to detail.

• Display strong analytical skills, including the ability to gather information, conduct analyses, present findings, and create solutions

• Strong computer skills, including solid skill in the Microsoft Office suite, in particular with Excel.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, plus 1-3 years of tax experience. CPA license is a plus.

• Compensation: $53,000 - $66,000 depending on experience. More is possible if experience dictates.
