Description
Batching Technician Summary: Working from assigned work orders properly batch formulas to be used in the packaging department, operating a variety of equipment to blend formulas by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Review daily requirements with the Batching Supervisor to determine priorities for required formula batching.
Responsible to assure proper tank preparation and sanitation is performed prior to the formulation and batching of new work orders.
Pulls necessary materials to be used in the formulation of the product batch.
Assist in spill containment efforts for the facility.
Batching:
Follows batching procedures in accordance with the work order.
From work order performs batching of formulas, following prescribed proportions and sequencing of blends to the formula.
Once batch is properly blended submits sample to the lab for a Quality Control release.
If the formula does not meet Quality Control standards, performs batch modification as direct by chemist and resubmits sample.
Once the formula is approved marks the tank with appropriate product identification in accordance with HAZMAT labeling requirements
Transfers product utilizing properly coded transfer hose to hold tank, tote or drums, apply proper product identification labeling to all related containers.
Flushes batch tank in accordance proper procedure, verify PH is neutral, caps tank.
End of day: assures all tanks are secured, area cleaned and all equipment is turned off for the evening.
Performs work assigned in accordance with company production standards and rates.
Responsible to maintain a clean and organized work area established by plant policy.
Must adhere to all company safety and health policies.
Utilize company equipment with proper use and care, notifies maintenance of any equipment needs to assure safe operation.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
