Material Handler Responsibilities:

• Sorts and places production finished goods on racks, shelves, or in bins according to established storage layout of product types, sizes, customers.

• Assembles customer orders by utilizing pick-list from stock and places orders on pallets or into shipping cartons to permit shipping to customer. Records amounts of materials selected on the pick-list.

• Applies applicable labeling and other markings as defined by customer specifications, DOT requirements, or Nyco procedures.

• Effectively and safely operates stand-up forklifts to move materials into and out of storage/staging areas and the loading of trucks.

• Coordinates customer order shipments with customer service representatives.

• Prepares  parcels for mailing and generates UPS and FedEx shipments through proprietary software.

• Verifies item counts of product to assure accuracy of company information system inventory.  Notifies manager of any discrepancies of physical count to the system count.

Material Handler Qualifications:

Must be forklift certified, and have worked in a previous manufacturing and/or distribution center environment. Reach truck experience is required as well as stand up and sit down forklift. Experience with put-away and order pulling is necessary. Prior use of shipping programs such as UPS and FedEx is highly desirable, as well as a good grasp of Excel spreadsheets and data entry.
