Summary of Purpose

Plans and implements marketing and advertising strategy and tactics to support College’s recruitment, retention and reputation goals. Ensures content is meaningful, clear, engaging and aligned with the College’s mission, vision and values. Works closely with key stakeholders. Responsible for creating and delivering compelling written and visual content that engages targeted audience and strengthens the College’s brand image. This employee is expected to work in a multi-cultural, diverse working environment. Flexible hours during peak work periods, dependent on activities scheduled, is required.

  • Creates marketing plans and executes tactics that support recruitment, retention and reputation strategies for all areas of the College
  • Works collaboratively with internal and external College stakeholders (e.g. ad agency, photographers, videographers, and other vendors) in the development of effective communications, including project management to meet deadlines
  • Researches market trends, customer behavior and competitor landscape. Analyzes metrics and reports on marketing activities and program success
  • Analyzes customer interactions, effectiveness of promotional campaigns and recommends adjustments to marketing plans and budgets that increase effectiveness and return on investment.
  • Maintains established College brand integrity and ensures content accuracy in all marketing materials.
  • Applies marketing best practices to write, create and schedule engaging content, including promotional material, direct mail, photos, videos, emails, search engine marketing, web pages, digital signage platforms, and new and emerging tactics.
  • Provides expertise on current and emerging digital trends, best practices, and technologies; investigates and understands various digital platforms used by each of the College’s key target audiences and provides recommendations for integration into College communication practices; ensures messages are customized, formatted, and delivered optimally. Recommends adjustments to plans and budgets that increase effectiveness and return on investment.
  • Provides support for other marketing and communications relations projects, including College events, as needed
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.
  • Ability to work additional hours, as needed

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of automated marketing tools and customer relationship software (CRM)
  • Understanding of SEO, web traffic analytics, traditional, social, content and digital marketing
  • Strong project management skills, with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities to meet firm deadlines
  • Ability work both independently and as a team. Ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders across the organization
  • Knowledge of best marketing practices
  • Knowledge of photo and video planning and production
  • Experience with content creation and delivery across platforms, including email, newsletters, intranet content, videos, and presentations

Minimum Education and Experience

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, or a related discipline.
EXPERIENCE: Three (3) or more years of demonstrated experience in marketing, communications/public relations, and/or project management required. Experience in higher education marketing preferred. Customer relations software (CRM) experience also preferred.
