Summary of Purpose

This position will assist the Dean in managing the day-to-day operations of the Public Services Department. Plan and work with the Dean of Public Services towards further growth of the overall Public Services Division. Coordinate with the Director of EMS and other Program Managers (CREST, Fire Academy and Advanced Police Training) to ensure all programs are working in synergy with each other. Works in collaboration with staff from all areas in Public Services to ensure logistics with classrooms and space rentals are met. The Program Manager will collaborate with the Dean/Director to set pricing, monitors revenue streams, assesses the viability of courses, and work with the Accounting Specialist to ensure proper billing and payments. This position is expected to work in a multi- cultural diverse working environment.

Starting base salary: $55, 000 - $75,000

Typical Duties

1. Assist in hiring part-time staff and instructors.
2. Seeks to find independent contractors based on subject matter expertise.
3. Verifies certifications of instructors and conducts completes reference checks, as necessary.
4. Handles logistical continuity among the various areas of the Public Services Division.
5. Administers training programs; manages staff on projects; develops project budgets;
designs and monitors program reporting and accounting processes
6. Participate in state and local emergency services organization, and program advisory committee to grow community outreach for the Public Services Division.
7. Assist in the facility rentals of Public Services Division.
8. Collaborates with the Dean of Public Services in overseeing and driving aspects of the sales process for the Public Services Division.
9. Works with the Dean of Public Services to identify training opportunities.
10. Collaborates with the Dean of Public Services and heads of Public Services Division to facilitate partnerships with business, government and community organizations.
11. Tracks, manages and reports on business activity at all times providing reports to the Dean of Public Services.
12. Assist the Dean of Public Services in development and maintenance of the annual budget for the Public Services division that supports departmental plans and operations.
13. Attends all Public Services Advisory Board Meetings.
14. Performs other related duties, as assigned.
15. Represents the Public Services Division to internal and external communities at the direction of the Dean.
16. Ability to work additional hours, as needed.
17. Ensures regulatory and legal issues affecting contracts.

Minimum Education and Experience

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree in an Emergency Services related field, Education, Training, Business, or related field and five (5) years of successful work experience in Emergency Services related field

OR
Associate’s Degree (or equivalent credits) in an Emergency Services related field, Education, Training, Business or related field and ten (10) years successful work experience in and Emergency Services
AND
Two (2) years of management experience
