Support the Risk Management department. Salary is up to $57,200.00 based on education and experience. This is an on-site position located in Oklahoma City, OK. Position Summary OMES is seeking an Underwriting Coordinator with a strong focus on data collection to support the state’s comprehensive risk management program. This role involves gathering and evaluating information—including claim data, financial records, and insurance coverage details—to ensure appropriate coverage. The Underwriting Coordinator will act as liaison for Risk Management in working with partner agencies. Additionally, the position supports the end-to-end commercial insurance underwriting process. Key Responsibilities Collect exposure data and check for errors or inconsistencies to ensure accurate reporting.* Gather and organize financial and exposure data to support processes.* Use the Risk Management Information System (RMIS) to create reports to identify trends and opportunities.* Coordinate insurance placements, including specialty policies and certificates of insurance, ensuring all required documents are collected and stored.* Work with partner agencies to gather needed information for State Risk Management.* Schedule and manage meetings with stakeholders.* Communicate with insured entities to clarify any data issues found.* Help prepare reports for leadership on risk management related matters.* Build and maintain relationships to manage insurance needs. Cross train employees on risk management duties and tasks. Perform other duties as assigned. *Denotes an essential function of the position. Physical Demands and Work Environment This position works in a comfortable office setting with a computer and telephone for 90% of the workday. This position requires long periods, up to eight hours per day, of sitting and working at a desk. The noise level in the work environment is usually mild. This position requires travel for 5% of the work. Minimum Qualifications Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in business finance, analytics, or a closely related field. Experience in insurance or risk management is preferred but not required. Preference will be given to candidates who possess Strong organizational skills and proficient with Microsoft Suite, especially Excel. Ability and desire to become proficient using the RMIS software platform. Excellent writing and customer service skills. Demonstrate a strong detail-oriented mindset and a high level of accountability. Ability to prioritize tasks without supervision.
