- a) Maintenance:
Troubleshoots and repairs production machines which are down due to mechanical or performance problems. Work includes repairing or replacing bearings, seals, sprockets, chains, belts, valves, and packings, Conducts preventative maintenance, lubrication, and adjustment of machines and equipment including heat controllers, counters, calibration of diameter gauges; and a few electrical items such as replacement of light bulbs, fuses and electrical motors. Makes modifications based on employee suggestions or corrections of non-priority items located during inspection. Also maintains plant utility equipment. Updates maintenance logs and activity reports.
Time spent per week: 55%
Frequency: Many times per day.

- b) Troubleshooting:
Troubleshoots machine problems when requested by Production, Engineering, or as discovered during routine inspections.
Time spent per week: 15%
Frequency: Many times per day.

- c) Welding, Cutting, Machining:
Uses shop tools such as cutting and welding equipment, drill presses, taps, dies, grinding equipment, lathes and hand tools to repair or fabricate existing or replacement parts.

Frequency: Once per day, on average.
Significance: A routine part of the job.
- d) Equipment Installation, Relocation, Modification:
Installs new equipment, and relocates existing equipment, as requested by Engineering or Production. Modifies existing equipment to correct problems or improve performance.

Frequency: Several times per year.

- e) Meetings:
Participates in daily meetings at the start of the shift to determine assignments: and weekly meetings to discuss problems, issues and lessons learned.
