Engineering Internship
Okland Construction is seeking motivated, analytical, and team-oriented engineering students to join our internship program. If you enjoy solving real-world problems, working with data and plans, and learning how complex systems come together, this is an opportunity to apply your engineering foundation in a high-impact, fast-moving environment.
No construction experience or construction education is required. We will teach you the industry, the terminology, and the day-to-day of how projects are built. What you bring is your engineering mindset curiosity, structured problem-solving, attention to detail, and a drive to learn.
As an intern, you’ll support active projects, work alongside experienced project teams, and gain exposure to the full project lifecycle including planning, coordination, field execution, and closeout. You’ll build skills that translate directly to your engineering future: collaboration, systems thinking, communication, and decision-making under real constraints.

What You’ll Do

What You’ll Do
- Project and Engineering Support
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, and coordination activities
- Participate in jobsite walks, safety meetings, and coordination with trade partners
- Support preconstruction efforts including quantity reviews, estimating support, and bid preparation
- Contribute to documentation, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Learn and use construction technology tools (e.g., Autodesk platforms, Bluebeam, BIM/VDC tools)
- Work directly with project engineers, superintendents, and project managers
- Attend team meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions
- Receive regular mentorship, coaching, and feedback from experienced professionals
- Participate in intern events, training sessions, and leadership exposure
- Complete a capstone project or presentation summarizing your experience and impact
- Receive performance feedback and guidance on next-step opportunities at Okland
- Across the internship, you’ll gain practical exposure to how complex projects move from concept to reality and why construction is one of the most applied, high-stakes environments for engineering thinking. You can expect meaningful experience in:
- How engineering decisions show up in the real world
- How to read and work from technical information
- How work is planned and sequenced on a jobsite
- How to problem-solve under real constraints

- Exposure to tools like Autodesk, Bluebeam, and BIM/VDC workflows that drive coordination and decision making

- Currently enrolled in an engineering program
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Clear communication and strong organizational habits
- Willingness to learn, take initiative, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
