What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host position at Old Town Pizza?
Position Summary:
Welcome, communicate and seat guests for dine in. Communicate tables and sections with servers. Represent Old Town Pizza at all times by being friendly, hospitable and helpful. Quote accurate wait times and use appropriate technology to maintain organization. This is a Full Time/ Part Time position with a pay range of $15.50 - $18.00 per hour. Pay will be determined based on experience.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Always be happy, friendly and smiling.
2. Greet all customers with a smile and Welcome them to Old Town Pizza.
3. Be professional and respectful to everyone.
4. Direct customers based on their needs (take out or dine in).
5. Seat dine in customers informing them of what our specials or fundraisers of the day are.
6. Inform the server of the table sat for them.
7. Maintain a wait list should one occur. Be sure to communicate with the customers of wait times, why a party of 2 is being sat at an open 2 top in front of the party of 9 still waiting. Communication keeps the lobby peaceful.
8. Always make yourself available to customers for any needs they may have.
9. Keep restaurant clean at all times including but not limited to tables, floors, bathrooms, lobby, counters, pictures, etc.
10. Answer the phone and take appropriate action for the call.
11. Accurate order taking. Always repeating order back to customers to insure accuracy.
12. Pre bus and bus tables as soon as possible to insure the customers experience is “As Good as Gold”
13. Be available to assist the servers when they need drinks, salads, etc..
14. Perform appropriate opening/closing tasks (sanitizing tables, sweeping, mopping, cleaning windows, cleaning arcade, bathrooms, etc.)
15. Perform slow time tasks located in the schedule binder.
16. In general it is critical to stay busy. If you feel you have done everything that can be done, look around and see what else can be done. Cleaning, restocking.
Double check with the manager to see if there is anything additional to work on.
