What are the responsibilities and job description for the ITS Technician position at OLIVET COLLEGE?
The ITS Systems Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of IT systems endpoints at The University of Olivet. This includes desktops, laptops, mobile devices, IoTs, multifunction printers, cameras, AV systems, IP phones, and other technologies. The technician ensures optimal performance of voice/data wiring and manages the campus’s audio-visual infrastructure. Collaboration with university departments is key to meeting tech-related expectations, along with evaluating and recommending new IT/AV solutions
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Support and maintain the voice and data network infrastructure.
2. Maintain the operation of several campus multi-user computers, and networks, as well as stand-alone networked PCs.
3. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues. Troubleshoot hardware and software problems and arrange for service if necessary. Coordinate with vendors and manage support ticket resolution workflows.
4. Assist campus departments with administrative process redesign, taking advantage of new technology.
5. Provide second-tier technical support, including responding to and resolving IT support tickets.
6. Support and maintain audio-visual systems across campus.
7. Operate and maintain a diverse collection of computer hardware and software.
8. Maintain the Operation of Systems at student computer labs.
9. Oversee IT equipment inventory and asset tracking.
10. Engage in ongoing professional development and technical training.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS -
Required: Two years of experience in the PC Support field with extensive knowledge of Microsoft Windows networking or two years of experience in a higher ED institute in computer services or academic/administrative computing field. Must display proficiency with PC software including, Windows OSs and Mac OSs , Microsoft Productivity tools like Office Suite, and knowledge of Windows server platform or MS 365 Cloud (Active Directory and Exchange). Must also have experience troubleshooting PC hardware and peripherals as well as a basic familiarity with computer networks, and cabling. Must be able to troubleshoot voice and network issues. Must be able to operate, troubleshoot, set up, and teardown AV equipment.
Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree and three or more years of experience in a higher education institution in the computer services field. Familiarity with IT ticketing system. Customer service experience. Extensive knowledge of Ethernet networks. Experience or knowledge equivalent to MCSE track certification or Cisco track certification. Extensive knowledge and experience in configuring, repairing, and installing PCs Oss, and applications using Microsoft Configuration Manager. Experience with Active Directory user management and familiarity with network password reset, MFA setup, and network account login process.
Working Conditions: Standard office setting (on-site); may include exposure to loud environments. Physical activity may include walking across campus and sitting for extended periods
Salary : $45,000 - $50,000
